Kottamba Kanda

Stay

Rates and availability

Kottamba Kanda is taken whole: four bedrooms, full staff, one party at a time. There are no shared spaces and no other guests, only the eight of you and the people who look after the house.

Rates go by the week and by the season, and are confirmed by Eden Villas ahead of opening. Send your dates below and they will come back with availability and a price within a day.

Prices are set by season and confirmed on enquiry ahead of opening. As a guide to the calendar, the south coast runs roughly like this.

The villa is taken whole: four bedrooms, sleeping eight, staff included.

The south-west monsoon touches the coast from April to June; September to November is quieter and greener, with its own appeal and the best value.

How a stay works

From the airport to the last morning

  1. Arrival

A driver meets you at Colombo airport and drives the coast road south, about three and a quarter hours, with a stop if you want one. The gate opens, the staff are expecting you, and a cold drink is already poured.

  2. Meals

Your chef finds you on the first evening to talk through how you eat. After that, breakfast, lunch and dinner appear where you want them: the veranda, the poolside, a picnic packed for the beach.

  3. Your days

Surf in the morning, sleep through the heat, walk down to the bay as it cools. The manager can arrange boards, a yoga teacher, a boat, or a table in Galle, and can just as easily leave the days entirely to you.

  4. Getting around

A car and driver stay with you for the week, for market runs, day trips and dinners along the coast. Hiriketiya itself needs no car; it is four minutes down the hill on foot.
